The Manufacturing Research Unit at CSIRO is seeking a visionary leader to drive strategic growth and innovation. As Deputy Director, Manufacturing, you will play a key role in shaping the future of Australian manufacturing.

The Role

This is a unique opportunity to lead national science initiatives and high-impact projects, driving internal and external partnerships. You will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of Manufacturing Future Science Platforms, Science Leader Programs, and engaging in relevant Research Unit-led FSPs.

You will collaborate with Manufacturing Leadership Teams to define and achieve the Research Unit's strategic requirements, working closely with CSIRO Deputy Directors/Science Directors to execute strategy and co-manage strategic relationships and alliances.

As a key member of the Manufacturing Research Unit Leadership Team and the CSIRO Science Council, you will contribute to strategic decision-making, provide sound recommendations, and contribute to CSIRO's investment in science.

Your Skills and Qualifications

  • Demonstrated achievement in senior leadership roles within manufacturing research or related sectors
  • Experience working within or across multidisciplinary organisations
  • Strong executive engagement and strategic relationship management skills
  • Ability to attract, retain, empower, and develop world-class talent
  • Proven leadership capabilities to inspire, empower, and resolve complex technical, management, and administrative issues
  • Exceptional interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills with strong business acumen

What We Offer

An attractive salary plus motor vehicle allowance, 15.4% superannuation, and a specified term of 3 years full-time. This role is open to Australian/New Zealand Citizens, Australian Permanent Residents, or those holding a valid working visa for the duration of the specified term.
