About the Role

Mackay Hospital and Health Service is seeking a highly skilled Cardiologist Specialist to join their team at the Mackay Base Hospital. As a key member of the Cardiac Services Department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to patients with cardiovascular conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat patients with cardiovascular conditions, including coronary artery disease, heart failure, and arrhythmias.
• Perform a range of cardiology procedures, including echocardiograms, stress tests, and cardiac catheterizations.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
• Participate in the education and training of junior medical staff.
• Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and policies for the Cardiac Services Department.

About the Department

The Cardiac Services Department at Mackay Base Hospital is a dynamic and growing team that provides a wide range of cardiology services to the local community. The department is accredited by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) for cardiology advanced training status.

Requirements

• FRACP or equivalent qualification in cardiology.
• Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
• Experience in cardiology, preferably in a hospital setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
