About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at Green Leaves Early Learning. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals to our children and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare a wide variety of meals, snacks, and special diet meals for our children and families
- Manage kitchen inventory, including ordering and stock rotation, to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, including our Kitchen Hand, to ensure high standards of food preparation and presentation
- Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with our educators to develop and implement healthy eating programs and menus
- Provide exceptional customer service to our families, responding to their dietary needs and preferences
- Stay up-to-date with the latest culinary trends and techniques, incorporating new ideas into our menu planning and preparation
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Chef in a childcare or aged care setting
- Proven ability to manage kitchen operations, including inventory management and staff supervision
- Excellent culinary skills, including menu planning and preparation, and presentation
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and staff
- Ability to work Monday to Friday, up to 37.5 hours per week
