About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at Green Leaves Early Learning. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals to our children and families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare a wide variety of meals, snacks, and special diet meals for our children and families
  • Manage kitchen inventory, including ordering and stock rotation, to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, including our Kitchen Hand, to ensure high standards of food preparation and presentation
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations
  • Collaborate with our educators to develop and implement healthy eating programs and menus
  • Provide exceptional customer service to our families, responding to their dietary needs and preferences
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest culinary trends and techniques, incorporating new ideas into our menu planning and preparation

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Chef in a childcare or aged care setting
  • Proven ability to manage kitchen operations, including inventory management and staff supervision
  • Excellent culinary skills, including menu planning and preparation, and presentation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and staff
  • Ability to work Monday to Friday, up to 37.5 hours per week
