Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Design Manager to join our project delivery teams. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the design elements of our design and construct infrastructure projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in facilitating and maintaining relationships with our design partners, ensuring that our projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Administer project design management plans and work knowledge of design management principles.
- Coordinate and manage all stages of a project's design from tender to completion, ensuring that designs are produced accurately, on time, and within budget.
- Oversee and coordinate all engineering and design aspects of the project, working closely with designers and the construction team to ensure that designs meet project objectives and constructability considerations.
- Take a lead role in problem-solving and challenging the design to find innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges during the design and construction phase.
- Identify risks, opportunities, and cost savings during the design phase of the project.
- Champion safety in design to ensure control measures are provided early in the design process to eliminate or minimize risks to health and safety through the lifecycle of the project and infrastructure.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
- Chartered Engineer and RPEV Registered.
- Prior contracting or design consultancy experience in the civil construction industry within a similar position.
- Knowledge of digital engineering platforms such as AutoCAD or 12D is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
