About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Medical Secretary to join our team at Icon Cancer Centre Mackay. As a vital part of our administration team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our centre and providing exceptional care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet every patient with warmth and compassion, making them feel comfortable and cared for from the moment they walk in.
  • Manage incoming calls, answer patient inquiries, and schedule appointments – each interaction is a chance to make someone's day a little easier.
  • Maintain top-notch attention to detail when entering patient information, processing billing, and managing patient records.
  • Monitor and oversee administrative care paths, ensuring every step is smooth and efficient for the patients you support.
  • Safeguard confidential patient information and ensure accurate management of medical records.
  • Utilize your understanding of Medicare, DVA claims, and medical terminology to assist patients and keep everything on track.
  • Support our Workplace Health & Safety Officers carry out their roles and promote Icon's vision and values across everything you do.
