Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of skilled engineers in the development and deployment of software for hardware systems. As a key member of our robotics software development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying robust software solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of engineers in the design, development, and deployment of software for hardware systems.
  • Guide the production and implementation of version control systems to track software updates and ensure stability.
  • Develop software that is backward-compatible, ensuring operational continuity with legacy systems.
  • Manage the entire software lifecycle, from concept and design to implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Oversee the maintenance of existing software applications, including troubleshooting and ensuring ongoing operational support.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align software development with product requirements.
  • Maintain clean, stable interfaces to support integration with externally developed systems.
  • Deploy production code and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Work closely with hardware teams to ensure seamless integration between software and hardware components.
  • Prepare clear and concise technical documentation, including specifications, design documents, and release notes.
  • Act as a technical reference for your team, leading code reviews to ensure code quality and maintainability.
Required Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience leading teams of engineers in software development, including deploying software on physical hardware systems.
  • Expertise in version control systems and ensuring configuration control and backward compatibility.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and maintaining application software for operational hardware systems.
  • Familiarity with operational aspects of software, including testing, debugging, and troubleshooting in deployed products.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt in a rapidly changing technical environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to work across teams and disciplines.
  • Self-motivated, organized individual with a track record of delivering high-quality work in time-sensitive environments.
  • Proficiency in C/C++, Python, and ROS.
  • Experience working in Agile teams.
  • Ability to attain and hold Baseline security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:

The following qualifications are preferred but not required:

  • Experience in space, aerospace, robotics, or a related technical field.
  • Familiarity with industry standards for safety and reliability in software development.
