Culturally Sensitive Mental Health Care
We are seeking an Aboriginal mental health professional to fill a critical role in bridging the gap between mainstream mental health services and the unique needs of Indigenous communities.
About this Role:
The successful candidate will be involved in clinical, community, and outreach activities aimed at supporting the mental health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in regular clinical supervision to ensure best practice is maintained.
- Demonstrate cultural competence and sensitivity in all interactions with clients.
- Commit to the ongoing development of knowledge and skills related to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander mental health and wellbeing.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local community groups and services.
Requirements:
- Hold a qualification in Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Nursing, Social Work, Dietetics, or Counselling.
- Be eligible to drive in NSW and have access to reliable transportation.
- Have significant experience and knowledge as a cultural consultant with demonstrated commitment to Closing the Gap for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
