About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team of professionals working on high-profile projects across Brisbane. As part of a collaborative environment, you will contribute to designing mechanical services systems, coordinating with other disciplines, and delivering best practice outcomes for clients.


The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with expertise in air conditioning, heating, and ventilation systems. Proven project experience in the building services sector is essential, along with registration or eligibility for registration as a professional engineer.


As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, your responsibilities will include providing design expertise, communicating effectively with stakeholders, and mentoring junior engineers. You will also be expected to build relationships with clients and identify business development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide mechanical design expertise on single and multi-disciplinary projects
  • Deliver best practice and outcomes for clients, saving on costs and time
  • Take lead on small to medium size engineering design projects and support larger projects
  • Communicate effectively with all external and internal stakeholders and project teams
  • Be a supporting figure and mentor for lesser experienced engineers
  • Build solid client relationships and recognize business development opportunities
Requirements
  • Hold a recognized Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing mechanical services systems (air conditioning, heating, and ventilation systems)
  • Have the ability to coordinate and understand relevant building services disciplines, including Electrical, Hydraulic, Fire Protection, and Environmentally Sustainable Design
  • Proven project experience in the building services sector across a range of large projects
  • Possess a working knowledge of Australian building codes and standards
  • Ensure registration (or eligibility for registration) in the professional engineer register of the relevant state for the building/construction industry
  • Demonstrate a history of effectively managing competing priorities, prioritizing work, and meeting tight deadlines
