About the Opportunity

This is a challenging and rewarding role for a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to lead the switchboard manufacturing team in Perth. As the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for directing department activities to design new products, modify existing designs, and improve production techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Direct department activities to design new products, modify existing designs, and improve production techniques.
  2. Analyse technology trends, human resource needs, and market demand to plan projects.
  3. Work closely with upper management, operations, and the planning department to determine engineering feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products.
  4. Prepare budget requests and forecasting operational costs, oversee technical support and troubleshooting problems.
  5. Serve as a technical advisor on the execution of engineering projects and recommend solutions.
  6. Manage, support and mentor the internal estimator.
  7. Maintain a positive rapport with clients and suppliers.
  8. Establish and implement developmental goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in electrical engineering and experience in a similar leadership position. You will also need to have excellent communication and project management skills.

Requirements:

  1. Be a qualified Electrical Fitter/Mechanic (essential).
  2. Have a diploma of engineering (highly desirable).
