Healthcare Support Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Assistant to join our team at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital. As an integral part of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will provide support and care to patients during their surgical journey under the supervision of clinical staff.
In this role, you will assist all clinical staff in caring for paediatric and adult patients with transferring patients and assisting with preparation of theatres. You will work amongst an inclusive and friendly team of clinicians to deliver care to patients by supporting the clinicians.
The ideal candidate will have recent experience as an Operations Assistant or equivalent and demonstrate competence in manual handling and operating equipment related to the position. Effective communication and time management skills are essential, as well as the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and independently without supervision when required.
You will also be responsible for providing a support service undergoing surgical procedures within the perioperative unit. This is a NSW Health Category A position which requires immunisation and screening for certain diseases.
