The organization seeks a strategic leader to oversee their internal audit function, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of controls.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to drive the group's risk management and control functions, identifying key risks and developing appropriate audit programs and tests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the internal audit function, including the development and implementation of internal controls
  • Lead the group's risk management and control functions, collaborating with stakeholders to identify and mitigate potential risks
  • Compile and analyze audit findings, providing recommendations for enhancements to systems, processes, and procedures
  • Prepare draft audit reports, working closely with review teams to ensure thorough analysis and accurate results
  • Collaborate with auditors to drive closure of technical accounting matters, supporting finance teams in their efforts to deliver high-quality financial information
  • Analyze new and proposed accounting standards, assessing their impact on the organization and informing strategic decisions
  • Maintain up-to-date accounting policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with AASB/IFRS/US GAAP standards
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in commerce or finance
  • Experience in internal or external audit, or financial accounting in a chartered or commercial environment
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and/or SOX compliance
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work under pressure, meeting deadlines and delivering results in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven track record as a team player, with the capacity to use initiative and drive outcomes
