OSS Maritime Group is a multinational logistics and marine services provider with a global trading record of over 30 years. Our organisation supports ambitious candidates to contribute to our growth as part of our Purchasing team in Melbourne.
Main Responsibilities:- We seek an individual to join our purchasing team and play a vital role in reducing procurement costs nationally and globally.
- The chosen candidate will update pricing strategies both nationally and globally, and lead warehouse logistics and stock management.
- We require the successful candidate to cost goods and services for ships' parts and other needs.
- Timely delivery of goods within schedules is crucial.
- The Procurement Specialist will liaise with customers and suppliers via various means including phone calls, face-to-face interactions, and email correspondence.
- Negotiating with suppliers and identifying new business opportunities is also essential.
- The ideal candidate will monitor inventory levels and conduct regular stock takes.
- Managing and processing supplier claims and authorising invoices are key responsibilities.
- The selected candidate will be responsible for updating data in our purchasing system and providing daily/weekly reports.
- A minimum of 2 years office experience, preferably in a purchasing role.
- Excellent written and spoken English skills.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Excel, etc.).
- The ability to speak a second language is highly regarded.
