
Senior Electromechanical Systems Specialist

You have the chance to work on high-impact rail electrification projects supporting clients across the full asset lifecycle from strategic planning to delivery.
Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with a strong background in traction power systems to join our nationally recognised Rail Engineering team. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex projects across local, interstate, and international networks supporting clients throughout the entire asset lifecycle and helping them achieve best-for-value outcomes.
- Design and coordinate traction power systems and infrastructure.
- Prepare and review technical reports, feasibility studies, and protection studies.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
- Engage in AC/DC traction electrification design and substation design.
- Mentor junior engineers and manage design packages and teams.
- Contribute to tender proposals and understand client requirements.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronics or Power Engineering.
- Minimum 6 years' experience in detailed traction power supply engineering design.
- Strong background in High Voltage and Low Voltage systems, including earth grid design.
- Experience with Sydney Trains and/or Transport for NSW projects.
- Proficiency in software such as PSCAD, MATLAB, ETAP, DiaLux, Opentrak, OpenPowerNet (preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of IEC/EN/ASA/AS/AMB standards.
- Site exposure on traction electrification works (preferred).
