Security Information Systems Specialist

This role is crucial for safeguarding the security and integrity of our information systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of security authorization packages, ensuring compliance and notifying relevant personnel of any changes that may affect authorization determination.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct regular security reviews to ensure the accuracy of security documentation and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Coordinate changes or modifications to hardware, software, or firmware with senior management prior to implementation.
- Monitor system recovery processes to verify that security features and procedures are restored and functioning correctly.
- Collect, review, and document audit records, including any anomalies or discrepancies.
- Attend technical and security training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Execute self-inspections and provide security coordination to identify vulnerabilities and implement countermeasures.
- Prepare detailed reports on the status of security safeguards applied to computer systems.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field such as computer science, cybersecurity, or information assurance.
- Hold relevant certifications like CISSP, Security+, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Linux and databases, spreadsheets, and technical report writing.
- Excellent communication and briefing skills up to senior leadership levels.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to change.
