
Infrastructure Communications Specialist

As a specialist in strategic communications, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on road infrastructure projects within the district.
The primary accountabilities of this role include coordinating community engagement, providing expert communications advice, and implementing effective communication strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate community engagement for road infrastructure projects, offering ongoing strategic communications advice to project managers.
- Develop and implement communication strategies, ensuring effective stakeholder management and consultation with various interest groups.
- Provide expert communication support to project managers, covering areas such as media and issues management, risk assessment, and community engagement.
- Prepare and manage communications materials, including media releases, newsletters, speeches, and other project-related documents.
- Organise and oversee key communication activities like road commissioning, launches, media opportunities, and events.
- Lead stakeholder engagement meetings with the assistance of technical team members.
- Provide training, guidance, and support to staff and consultants, enhancing their communication skills and fostering better relationships with stakeholders and the community.
Requirements:
- Experienced communications professional capable of quickly taking on and managing projects, ideally with infrastructure or civil construction background.
- Proficiency in face-to-face engagement, leading meetings with multiple stakeholders, including property owners, local businesses, community members, and government officials.
- Excellent written communication skills, enabling the development of compelling and impactful content.
- Flexibility to travel within the district, with very rare overnight stays.
