Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and experienced Chipper Operator/ EWP Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out tree services and maintenance works using chainsaws, wood chippers, stump grinders, and other ancillary equipment as directed.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and Mitigate Hazards: The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying potential hazards and implementing safe operating procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Operate Chainsaws and Wood Chippers: The candidate will be required to safely cross-cut fallen timber using compression and tension cuts with a hand-held chainsaw and operate wood chippers as directed.
- Maintain a Safe and Environmentally Responsible Workplace: The successful candidate will be responsible for demonstrating safe and environmentally responsible workplace practices, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Obtain Relevant Licenses and Permits: The candidate will be required to obtain and maintain relevant licenses and permits as required by law and company policy.
- Communicate Effectively: The successful candidate will be responsible for effectively communicating information, interpreting and applying task instructions, and maintaining records and reports as required.
- Traffic Management Tickets: The successful candidate will be required to hold a valid traffic management ticket.
- Senior First Aid Certification: The candidate will be required to hold a current senior first aid certification.
- White Card: The successful candidate will be required to hold a valid white card.
- Cert 2 Vesi/Desirable Training: The candidate will be required to hold a Cert 2 Vesi or have completed desirable training as required by the company.
- MR License: The successful candidate will be required to hold a valid MR license.
- Excavator Ticket: The candidate will be required to hold a valid excavator ticket.
- Chipper Ticket: The successful candidate will be required to hold a valid chipper ticket.
- Chainsaw Ticket: The candidate will be required to hold a valid chainsaw ticket.
- EWP Ticket: The successful candidate will be required to hold a valid EWP ticket.
