About the Role

As a Guidance Officer, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and support to students, parents, and staff in schools. This involves developing positive working relationships and fostering resilience in students.

  • Collaborate with other personnel and external providers to implement programs focusing on preventative strategies and identified needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Student Support
  • Advocate, counsel and provide individual student support on educational, behavioural, career development and mental health issues.
  • Conduct assessments and observations to determine student learning difficulties and make recommendations for adjustments and interventions.
School Partnerships
  • Facilitate partnerships with parents, teachers and external agencies to provide a comprehensive support service for students.
Policy and Procedure
  • Assist schools in implementing policies and risk management processes, including individualised student plans.
  • Provide SET planning, career development and future pathway options counselling in secondary schools.
