Job Title: Principal Finance Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Finance Officer to join our team at Metro North Health. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing financial advice and guidance to stakeholders, as well as managing various financial portfolios.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and assist with internal and external audit requests and requirements.
  • Provide financial advice on request and interpretation of accounting standards, policies, awards, and enterprise bargaining agreements.
  • Manage the STARS Education and Research Alliance (SERA) and Oral Health Alliance (OHA) portfolios, including monitoring conjoint arrangements with the University of Queensland.
  • Coordinate and lead month-end processes, including journals, accruals, invoicing, cost centre reporting, and workforce reports.
  • Oversee medical workforce recharging arrangements with provider sites across Metro North and perform attendance reconciliations on a monthly basis.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in financial management and analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
