Ecology Team Lead

We are seeking an experienced Ecology Team Lead to join our organization. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of ecologists in delivering projects such as Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, Ecological Impact Assessments, Protected Species Surveys, Bat Mitigation Licencing, and Biodiversity Net Gain Calculations.

  • This role involves developing an ecology team in our London office, working closely with the wider ecology team to deliver projects across various sectors, including residential, commercial, and agricultural development.
  • You will promote environmentally sustainable practices and solutions in your day-to-day work and project outputs, ensuring that our work meets the highest standards of quality and environmental responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Mentor and lead a team of ecologists in delivering projects to a high standard.
  2. Develop an ecology team in the London office, working with the wider ecology team to deliver projects across various sectors.
  3. Promote environmentally sustainable practices and solutions in day-to-day work and project outputs.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrate ability to carry out typical team work to a good standard and manage staff to do the same.
  • Relevant degree and Full Member of CIEEM.
  • Good understanding of all levels of the planning system.
  • Able to work efficiently and diligently to reasonable deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills to enable effective working with multi-disciplinary external and in-house teams.
