Senior Regulatory Strategy Counsel

This role provides a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in regulatory strategy and risk management to drive business growth and success. As a key member of our legal team, you will advise on regulatory matters associated with strategic initiatives and new business line development, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Responsibilities- Advising the business on regulatory strategy and risk, including identifying potential regulatory violations and developing mitigation strategies.
- Working closely with compliance teams to ensure effective management of regulatory compliance responsibilities and consultation with external parties as necessary.
- Representing the company in negotiations with regulatory bodies and advising on defense and settlement of any regulatory action or other related matters.
- Assisting with formal examinations or investigations by regulators, regulatory registrations, and written submissions in response to consultations from regulators.
- Developing and implementing policies, guidelines, and other documents pertaining to regulatory requirements applicable to the company's regulated businesses.
- Law degree and qualified to practice law in Australia.
- At least 8 years of financial services or securities law experience in Australia or another APAC jurisdiction.
- Financial services compliance/regulatory experience is required, with substantive familiarity with ASIC requirements.
- Structured finance transactional experience or experience dealing with regulatory bodies in the Asia-Pacific region is an advantage.
- Leadership skills and ability to influence are essential.
