About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Faculty Business Operations Coordinator to join our team at Curtin University. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with strong planning and problem-solving skills to manage operational and administrative functions for the Faculty Office and research institutes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day business operations of assigned areas, ensuring efficient use of resources and effective workflow.
  • Liaise with University service functions to facilitate administrative activities, fostering strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and refine internal processes, integrating continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate specific projects as assigned, providing high-quality support to achieve quick and positive outcomes.
  • Support GM, Faculty Deans, and Directors with preparation of briefing papers, reports, and other documentation.
  • Provide executive support to Faculty committees and working parties, facilitating collaboration and decision-making.
  • Manage operational budgets and reporting, ensuring accurate financial data and timely submissions.
  • Facilitate Faculty-wide communications, promoting a culture of transparency and inclusivity.
  • Lead and manage staff in the administrative pool, providing guidance and development opportunities.
  • Coordinate efficient use of staffing resources, optimizing workload and productivity.

Requirements
  • Completion of a degree with considerable relevant experience; or extensive experience and management expertise in an administrative field; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Demonstrated planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deliverables in a dynamic and complex environment.
  • Demonstrated staff management skills with the ability to conduct effective work planning and performance review discussions and to foster a work environment of high achievement, continuous improvement, and job satisfaction.
  • Demonstrated high-level interpersonal and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively consult with a wide range of stakeholders on a range of matters and in a professional and confident manner.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to offer solutions to complex problems.
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial and budget management.
  • Demonstrated high-level written communication skills with the ability to prepare high quality reports, briefing papers, and correspondence.
