Job Title

Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing routine preventive maintenance checks on all production equipment and machinery.

Responsibilities
  • Inspecting production equipment and machinery to identify areas that require maintenance or repair.
  • Replacing or repairing parts as needed to ensure optimal performance.
  • Observing and listening to mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of trouble and inspecting used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
  • Adjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments, repairing or replacing defective parts, and installing special functional and structural parts in devices.
  • Initiating purchase orders for parts and machines, lubricating and cleaning parts, and starting devices to test their performance.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent plus one year of related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required.
  • Familiarity with hydraulics pneumatics electricity and PLC troubleshooting is essential and an Electrician's License is preferred but not mandatory.
Key Skills and Abilities
  • The Maintenance Mechanic must have strong PLC troubleshooting capabilities and be able to read and program code.
  • A good working knowledge of electrical controls mechanical assembly plumbing and heating ventilating and air-conditioning related control systems is required.
  • The ability to troubleshoot and repair both electrical and mechanical problems associated with production and facility equipment in a timely manner is essential.
Working Conditions
  • The role requires the ability to work 12-hour shifts rotating between 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next and may involve working overtime when needed.
  • The Maintenance Mechanic must be able to frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds with assistance.
