Senior Mechanical Engineer

Lycopodium is a global engineering and project delivery company with a strong presence in Australia, Africa, Canada, Peru, and the Philippines. We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering team in Melbourne.
About the RoleThe successful applicant will be responsible for producing proficient and accurate design outputs that meet project and study requirements. Key tasks include:
- Conducting timely reviews of project mechanical drawings to ensure compliance with design intent
- Performing and reviewing engineering designs, including calculations and design development
- Interpreting engineering drawings, documents, specifications, and scopes
- Liaising with the drafting team to prepare drawing deliverables
- Developing technical documentation, including scopes of work and specifications, using relevant industry standards and guidelines
- Reviewing certified vendor documentation and disseminating information to relevant personnel
- Maintaining knowledge of the latest industry developments, codes, and standards
- Providing professional support to team members to ensure project deliverables are met
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A university degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized tertiary institution
- At least 8 years of post-graduate experience in the industrial processes industry or on similar capital projects
- High attention to detail and exceptional knowledge of mechanical process optimization
- Demonstrated ability to achieve consistently high standards within budgetary and schedule constraints
- Proficient understanding of business acumen and ability to adapt to different business environments
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize to a high standard of accuracy and professionalism
