Senior Financial Accountant Job Summary

This is a critical role that requires exceptional financial expertise and leadership skills to manage the company's financial & corporate accounting activities on a national scale.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in lease accounting, strong communication skills, and a proven track record of driving process improvements.

  • Key Responsibilities:">
  • Own the lease accounting process for the business, following AASB16 standards.">
  • Responsible for monthly, quarterly and year-end tasks, pre and post to the preparation of month end management reporting and analysis.">
  • Oversee tax compliance including income tax returns, FBT, GST and BAS in consultation with external advisors.">
  • Contribute to the preparation of financial statements.">
  • Assist BU leaders with strategies to follow up outstanding debtors.">
  • Provide guidance on financial processes, procedures and maintain internal controls; focus on supporting operations functions including warehouses, logistic and inventory management activities.">
  • Provide analysis, insights and recommendations to CFO and Financial Controller on actual operating performance including variances, overheads spend to budget / variance.">
  • Drive continuous process improvement initiatives to ensure compliance and robust internal control.">
  • Lead ad-hoc projects as directed by the CFO and Financial Controller.">

Requirements:

  • Candidate must be CA or CPA qualified accounting professional.">
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills as ability to interact and engage cross-functionally within the business will be crucial to success.">
  • Have a strong attention to detail, proven lease accounting (AASB16/IFRS16) experience & knowledge, and have worked in a large-scale, dynamic FMCG / Retail organisation previously.">
