About this role

  • Meet individual needs with dignity and autonomy;
  • Mentor clients to gain skills enhancing independence and quality of life;
  • Provide positive support and be a role model in areas such as emotional behavior, personal care and hygiene, transport, education, cooking, and domestic duties;
  • Assist with medication management and adherence to client support plans;
  • Manual handling and complete clear, concise, and factual handover notes and incident reports;
  • Manage complex and challenging client behaviors (including aggressive behaviors) in a safe and respectful manner;
  • Support clients engaging with local communities and culture through community participation programs and recreational activities;
  • Nurture dignity, autonomy, and positive self-esteem in clients.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal;
  • Current driver's license (mandatory requirement);
  • Mandatory requirements: Current First Aid Certificate, NDIS Worker Orientation Module; previous experience supporting people with concerns and needs recommended; basic computer literacy (training provided on systems).
