Energy Trading Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Renewable Energy Trader to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented professional to drive investment in renewable energy and accelerate the transition to a low-carbon world.

The ideal candidate will have experience in physical or financial trading, with a strong understanding of real-time energy and ancillary service wholesale market fundamentals.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess risks and opportunities of asset operations by coordinating with internal stakeholders.
  • Support relationships with key clients, market operators, and other key partners.
  • Develop and refine trading protocols and operational workflows.
  • Provide input into the product development roadmap and service offerings, identifying new market opportunities and working internally to establish requirements and execute on service development.
  • Optimise physical and financial trading positions within real-time electricity markets with a focus on maximising value capture.
  • Collaborate within teams to develop and implement trading strategies to achieve targets while complying with risk limits and trading control procedures.
  • Support analysis and platform improvement to aid in achieving profit targets and optimal dispatch of client portfolios.
  • Monitor and analyse trading outcomes and client portfolios.
Requirements
  • A degree in business, economics, finance, computer science, engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in providing outstanding customer service;
  • Intuition, a can-do attitude, and adaptability to embrace new ways of thinking.
  • Strong judgement in high-pressure situations;
  • Ability to prioritise workload in time-pressured environments;
  • Passion for delivering complex problems to a range of audiences;
  • Strong understanding of operations, rules, infrastructure, and organisations in the National Electricity Market (NEM);
  • Knowledge of real-time energy and ancillary service wholesale market fundamentals;
