We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accounting Professional to join our team in Sydney.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to the Financial Accountant, ensuring business needs are met and core functions are performed efficiently. This role involves maintaining knowledge of accounting standards, government policy, and legislation to deliver best practice accounting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and manage responsibilities across different Divisions within the Commission.
  • Manage the relationship between the outsourced provider, GovConnect, and internal stakeholders.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A degree in Accounting or a related field from TAFE (Graduate Diploma in Accounting) or University.
  • Membership of or eligibility to join a professional accounting body (NIA/CPA/CA).
  • Previous experience in an accounting role, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and provide solutions.
  • High proficiency in MS Excel and other accounting software packages.
