About our Behaviour Support Practitioner role

Job Description

We are seeking experienced Behaviour Support Practitioners to provide impactful therapy to NDIS participants. Your daily tasks may include:

  • Working in diverse settings such as homes, schools, playgrounds, workplaces and community centers.
  • Utilizing assessment and intervention skills to support participants in achieving goals and maximizing NDIS funding.
  • Building meaningful relationships with participants and their support networks (family, carers, friends).
  • Developing and implementing Behaviour Support Plans with function-based strategies, using a positive behaviour support framework.
  • Conducting Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBA).
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to address complex behavioural challenges.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant tertiary qualification, appropriate registration and at least 12 months experience as a Behaviour Support Practitioner. We value a positive, flexible attitude towards work and strong communication skills and team orientation.

Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Providing therapy to NDIS participants in diverse settings.
  • Utilizing assessment and intervention skills to support participants in achieving goals.
  • Building meaningful relationships with participants and their support networks.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Have a relevant tertiary qualification (Bachelor, Masters or Graduate Diploma).
  • Hold appropriate registration (e.g. Occupational Therapist, Speech Pathologist, Social Worker, Mental Health Nurse, etc.).
  • Be deemed as a Behaviour Support Practitioner by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
  • Have at least 12 months experience as a Behaviour Support Practitioner.
