Job Overview:

This role is responsible for providing supervision and support to young people in accordance with relevant legislative provisions, statutory priorities, delegations, departmental policies and procedures.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and assist young people to ensure their compliance with court orders and reintegration into the community.
  • Deliver group programs, including Transition to Success, to support young people's development.
  • Negotiate with government agencies on behalf of young people to enhance their access to services.
  • Maintain records of program attendance and prepare reports to inform case planning and reviews.

Delegations:

  • Youth Workers have statutory delegations under the Youth Justice Act 1992.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Collaboration skills to work with young people, families and community agencies

Working Environment:
