About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Manager to lead our Community Services team at Darebin City Council. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and progressive local government organization that is passionate about social inclusion, sustainability, and service excellence.


Key Responsibilities:
  • To oversee the operation of the planning, building, and health service teams to provide responsive customer service and ensure compliance with statutory processes and timeframes.
  • To drive improvements and develop and coordinate delivery of continuous improvement activities.
  • To lead a divisional community of practice focused on improving the customer experience.
  • To lead the Department's participation and preparation for the move to Council's new Enterprise Resource Planning system.
  • To oversee and be responsible for the achievement of some statutory processes and timeframes.

Requirements:
  • A degree, diploma, or certificate in a relevant field (administration, leadership, customer engagement, or customer contact) or substantial experience in a relevant field.
  • Substantial demonstrated relevant experience including staff management, coordinating administrative and customer service activities within a busy customer-focused department.
  • Highly developed skills in administrative practices, well-developed problem-solving skills, and a high level of attention to detail.
  • High proficiency in the development, use, and application of various information technology systems, including GIS, Pathway, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Proven ability to identify and utilize technological solutions to issues to ensure quality service delivery and provide on-the-job technology-based training and support to other staff.

Compensation:

The estimated annual salary for this role is $90,000 - $120,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
