Lifestyle Support Worker

The role of a lifestyle support worker involves empowering individuals to live their best life by fostering confidence, working towards goals, and enhancing mental wellbeing.

Working one-on-one in homes and communities, you provide support to recipients, enabling them to live as independently as possible. This entails performing activities such as cleaning, preparing healthy meals, and maintaining a yard, while encouraging positive choices.

A key aspect of the role is supporting recipients to improve their confidence in accessing the community and engaging in activities that help achieve their goals. You will also provide transportation to and from activities, including shopping, social events, and appointments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build strong relationships with recipients and their families.
  • Develop and implement personalized plans to meet individual needs and goals.
  • Provide assistance with daily living tasks, such as cleaning, meal preparation, and personal care.
  • Encourage independence and self-reliance among recipients.
  • Support recipients to access community resources and services.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as healthcare providers and social workers.

Requirements:

  • Current minimum P1 "C" class Queensland drivers licence.
  • Currently registered, roadworthy, and fully comprehensive vehicle.
  • Nationally recognised First Aid and CPR certificate (or the ability to obtain).
  • Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) (or the ability to obtain).
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or the ability to obtain).
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety & You'
