Position Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and knowledgeable Application Security Specialist. In this role, you will play a crucial part in safeguarding the security and reliability of our software applications and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough application security evaluations and identify vulnerabilities,
- Create and enforce secure coding standards and practices,
- Work closely with software development teams to embed security measures throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC),
- Monitor security incidents and respond effectively to breaches,
- Conduct regular security reviews and risk evaluations of applications and systems,
- Keep abreast of the latest trends and technologies in application security,
- Provide training and guidance to development teams on secure coding methodologies,
- Collaborate with various teams to ensure adherence to security regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline,
- Demonstrated experience as an Application Security Specialist or in a similar position,
- In-depth understanding of application security principles and frameworks,
- Experience with both manual and automated penetration testing methods,
- Familiarity with secure coding practices and prevalent vulnerabilities,
- Proficiency in web application security tools such as Burp Suite or OWASP ZAP,
- Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions,
- Strong problem-solving and communication abilities,
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP or CSSLP are advantageous but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, .NET, or Python, along with their respective package managers to provide effective remediation guidance for developers.
