Compassionate Cancer Care Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and empathetic Cancer Care Nurse to join our team at Mt Waverly Private Hospital.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for navigating patients through their cancer journey, providing personalized care and support throughout all treatment phases.

This role requires a strong understanding of oncology nursing practices and the ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering high-quality patient care, a commitment to continuous improvement, and excellent interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Navigate patients through their cancer journey, providing personalized care and support throughout all treatment phases
  • Develop and implement effective care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families on cancer treatment options and management
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
Requirements
  • Eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Minimum of three years post-registration experience in specialty area of Oncology nursing or relevant experience in advanced practice
  • Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement and initiatives supporting the customer experience
  • Understanding of health fund requirements for cancer care services (desirable)
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment and independently as required
  • Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills
