Graduate Teacher Program

This graduate teacher program is designed for individuals who have completed their teaching course and are seeking a challenging and rewarding career in education. As a graduate teacher, you will be working in a supportive and collaborative environment with experienced teachers who will provide guidance and mentorship to help you develop your skills and competencies.

About the Role

The primary focus of this role is to further develop your skills and competencies as a classroom practitioner. You will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering programs to achieve specific student outcomes. You will also work closely with colleagues to develop and implement school policies and programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Planning and implementing a range of teaching programs or courses of study
  • Teaching an area of the curriculum or a general curriculum to a year level
  • Monitoring, evaluating, and reporting student progress in key learning areas
  • Implementing strategies to achieve targets related to student learning outcomes
Selection Criteria

To be eligible for this role, you must have completed your teaching course within the last 4 years and not be employed as a teacher by the department at the time the advertised position is to commence. You must also be currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
