About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our specialist timber team in Sydney. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on landmark projects, develop your skills in mass timber design, and contribute to the growth of our consultancy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver structural engineering solutions for medium-sized projects in the Australian market
  • Manage projects autonomously with guidance from senior management
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve project goals
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • An Australian tertiary engineering qualification
  • 6-9 years of local experience in structural engineering design
  • Membership with Engineers Australia, with CPEng / NER registration desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in prestressed concrete, steel design, and reinforced concrete
  • Ideal experience in designing mass timber structures, with training provided for the right candidate
  • Experience in a consulting engineering office, including a range of project types and sizes
  • Demonstrated experience in commercial, residential, government, and public buildings, and retail
  • Knowledge and understanding of Australian regulatory requirements and design standards
  • Ability to lead and manage a small team and mentor colleagues
  • Demonstrated project management skills to deliver on time, on budget, and to client requirements
  • A can-do attitude and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and people skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
  • Experience in ETABS, RAM Concept, Spacegass, RFEM, and RAPT or similar programs (or the desire to learn)
