Support Worker for Individual with Autism Spectrum Disorder

We are seeking a dedicated support worker to provide ongoing care for a lovely woman in her 40s with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Level 3.

This role involves providing personal care, in-home assistance and companionship across multiple shifts. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with ASD and be able to adapt to changing situations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Personal Care: Assistance with toileting, hygiene care, showering, dressing etc.
  • In-Home Support: Maintaining a clean and organized living environment.
  • Meal Preparation: Assisting with meal planning and preparation, ensuring a balanced diet.
  • Behavior Management: Providing a calming presence, especially during moments of self-harming or heightened anxiety.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A valid driver's license and own transport (mileage reimbursement available).
  • Previous experience in personal care and community support is highly valued.
  • Empathetic, patient and proactive in delivering high-quality care.

Mandatory requirements include:

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • NDIS Orientation Module
  • First Aid and CPR certifications (preferred but not required)

Essential qualifications include:

  • Certificate III in Disability or Individual Support or another related field.
  • Experience providing in-home and community access support to children and adults.
  • Previous experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is highly desirable.

Benefits of this role include a competitive hourly rate of $33.28 per hour (plus applicable penalty rates). The schedule includes a rotating roster, with work located in-person.
