About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Flood Modeller to lead our project team and drive the delivery of high-quality flood risk assessments and designs.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Flood Risk Engineer to take on a leadership role and contribute to the growth and success of our company, Strata Construction Consulting UK Ltd.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the production of 3D models using Civil 3D modelling software and convert 3D drawings into detailed designs.
  • Efficiently coordinate the production of detailed drawing and specification output, applying expert technical knowledge in line with relevant legislation and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with other design disciplines on design models, calculations, and sketches.
  • Oversee drawing production, verify work quality, and assist in the review of consultants' and contractors' design proposals.
  • Manage the upload and download of documents within document management systems and adhere to BIM protocols and office drawing standards.
  • Attend and contribute to project and technical meetings, and attend site inspections as required.
Requirements
  • 1D and 2D hydraulic modelling experience, particularly with Flood Modeller and Tuflow.
  • Hydrology expertise, including the Flood Estimation Handbook and ReFH2 and WINFAP.
  • Leadership experience in bid management, preferably in the private and public sectors.
  • Ability to recognize and communicate flooding and drainage-related constraints and opportunities at development sites.
  • Experience in producing and reviewing a wide range of Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs) and drainage strategies using MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage.
  • Good knowledge of the planning system, including policy and guidance such as the NPPF and SuDS Manual.
  • Understanding of the water industry in both the public and private sectors.
  • River engineering and restoration experience would be beneficial.
  • Strong financial control, project management, and communication skills in a client-facing role.
  • Experience mentoring junior staff and ability to write clear and concise reports.
