Job DescriptionLiaising with the Care Manager and Residential Services Manager, you will direct and deliver high-quality nursing care to our residents. Your responsibilities include:
- Leading and supervising support provision for daily living in accordance with each resident's care plan
- Developing and implementing strategies to promote social and physical engagement among residents
- Conducting assessments to identify residents' condition and functional ability, ensuring risks are managed and evaluated, discussed with relevant staff/residents or representatives, and included in their care planning
- Ensuring optimal use of medications, monitoring for potential side effects, and administering them in a timely and safe manner
- Providing leadership, direction, and support to Personal Carers, Enrolled Nurses, Hotel Service staff, Lifestyle, Maintenance, and Administration staff on each shift
- Coordinating clear handovers from shift to shift, ensuring relevant documentation in the 7-day handover sheet correlates with progress notes, alert notification forms, care plan suggested change forms, and risk management plans
- Ensuring all staff adhere to policies, procedures, and work instructions relevant to their roles
We seek candidates with:
- Bachelor of Nursing with current AHPRA registration as an Registered Nurse
- Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011) & Current CPR Certificate (HLTAID009)
- Previous experience working as an Registered Nurse in an Aged Care Environment
- Strong communication skills, enabling effective interaction with older adults, as well as proficiency in reading and writing instructions and progress notes
- Exceptional time management skills to manage workload, meet deadlines, and support colleagues
- Outstanding problem-solving skills to balance supporting residents' independence with potential risks and duty of care
- High level of understanding in supporting residents with dementia, including those displaying challenging behaviours
- Knowledge of AN-ACC principles to ensure optimal funding levels
- Excellent contemporary clinical knowledge, including medicines used in aged care
- Sound understanding of Aged Care Standards, particularly accreditation requirements
