Airport Governance Expert

Melbourne Airport is seeking an experienced Aviation professional to take on the role of Senior Advisor Aviation Governance. This is a pivotal position that drives governance, stakeholder accountability, and performance across critical airside operations and systems.
This role presents a unique opportunity to step into a high-impact role at the heart of airport operations where your expertise will directly influence the safety, efficiency, and future direction of Melbourne Airport's aviation environment.
The successful candidate will have proven experience in developing and leading licensing or access agreements in a high-risk, customer-focused operational environment. They should also possess in-depth knowledge of Aviation Operations, ground handling, and turnaround activities. Strong understanding of Civil Aviation Safety Regulations, ICAO Annexes and IATA IGOM, as well as experience in Aviation Safety Management Systems and incident investigations are highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Managing access licensing for airside operations to ensure all personnel, vehicles, and equipment meet compliance standards
2. Overseeing key aviation systems such as the airside driver and vehicle control management system, ensuring performance, data integrity, and user experience
3. Monitoring and improving aircraft turnaround processes through data-driven insights
4. Driving stakeholder collaboration across ground handlers, airlines, and internal teams to deliver safe and efficient operations
5. Leading reporting and analysis of operational performance, identifying opportunities for improvement
6. Managing SaaS vendor relationships and ensuring systems meet current and future business needs
Requirements:
- Proven experience in developing and leading licensing or access agreements in a high-risk, customer-focused operational environment
- In-depth knowledge of Aviation Operations, ground handling, and turnaround activities
- Strong understanding of Civil Aviation Safety Regulations, ICAO Annexes and IATA IGOM
- Experience in Aviation Safety Management Systems and incident investigations
