Senior Exploration Geophysicist Role

This is a dynamic opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects and shape the future of energy in Malaysia and beyond.

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Exploration Geophysicist to join our team in Kuala Lumpur. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading geophysical data analysis, interpretation, and synthesis to support exploration activities.

In this role, you will work closely with the Exploration Manager Malaysia and the APC Area Exploration Manager to support TotalEnergies' portfolio growth and exploration drilling strategies in Malaysia.

You will have the opportunity to mentor junior geophysicists and promote knowledge sharing across teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead geophysical data analysis, interpretation, and synthesis to support exploration activities.
  • Contribute to geological model development in integrated geoscience projects.
  • Support play and prospect evaluations and new venture assessments.
  • Validate new evaluation methods and ensure best practices in data management.
  • Mentor junior geophysicists and promote knowledge sharing across teams.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A university degree in MSc in Engineering, Geology, or Geophysics; PhD in Geophysics is a plus.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in geoscience and exploration.
  • Proven experience in seismic survey design, acquisition monitoring, and processing supervision.
  • Deep understanding of Malaysia's energy landscape and regulatory frameworks.
