We are seeking a skilled Operating Theatre Technician to join our team in a dynamic environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all aspects of OH&S and infection control principles are adhered to and integrated into all work practices.
Key responsibilities include:
- Contributing to an environment of multidisciplinary teamwork and maintaining a flexible approach to working in all specialised areas of the operating suite.
- Preparing and maintaining the operating room environment to ensure safe and efficient operating during surgery and subsequent procedures.
- Undertaking technical duties as listed in the operating technician position description.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- A certificate 3 or 4 in healthcare (theatre technician).
- A minimum of three years' experience as an operating theatre technician.
- The ability to problem-solve in a variety of situations.

About the Position
The Operating Theatre Technician will be responsible for supporting the perioperative services on our campus, which includes 11 operating rooms, two procedure rooms, two endoscopy rooms, a recovery unit with high dependency patient facilities, and a surgery and endoscopy centre with up to 12 overnight beds.
We undertake over 25,000 surgical and endoscopy procedures per annum in this area. Our acute service is available 24/7, and our elective service operates Monday to Friday only.
Required Skills and Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Certificate 3 or 4 in healthcare (theatre technician).
- Minimum of three years' experience as an operating theatre technician.
- Ability to problem-solve in a variety of situations.
