Healthcare Operations Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Healthcare Operations Specialist on a permanent part-time basis for night shift.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising safe, quality care that meets current best practice standards. This includes supporting and liaising with respective Nurse Unit Managers of wards and departments, assisting with coordination of staffing, managing patient flow, coordinating and planning operational processes, and coordinating patient admissions and providing discharge planning support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise safe, quality care that meets current best practice standards
  • Support and liaise with the respective Nurse Unit Manager(s) of wards and departments
  • Assist with coordination of staffing
  • Manage patient flow, coordinate and plan operational processes
  • Coordinate patient admissions and provide discharge planning support
  • Support the hospital's commitment to quality improvement and safety for staff, patients and visitors

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Minimum 5 years working as a Registered Nurse
  • Ability to manage competing demands and co-ordinate resources appropriately
  • Advanced interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Recent experience in bed management and/or patient flow
  • Demonstrated experience with the coordination and allocation of staff
  • High degree of computer literacy including MS Office
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Leadership skills including mentorship and coaching of team members
