Selection Criteria - Graduates:
  1. Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum and capacity to respond to student learning needs
  2. Capacity to implement teaching strategies and evaluate learning program impact on student growth
  3. Capacity to monitor and assess student learning and use data to inform teaching practice
  4. Interpersonal and communication skills to establish collaborative relationships
  5. Behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values and engaging in professional learning
Responsibilities - Graduates:
  • Planning and implementing teaching programs or courses of study
  • Teaching an area of the curriculum to a year level
  • Monitoring, evaluating, and reporting student progress in key learning areas
  • Implementing strategies to achieve targets related to student learning outcomes
  • Maintaining records of class attendance and recording student progress
  • Implementing effective student management consistent with school policies
Eligibility Requirements:

To be eligible, a teacher must have completed course requirements and graduated in the last 4 years, not be employed as a teacher by the department at the time the position commences, and currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching
