Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Hydraulic & Mechanical Fitter to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for the upkeep and repair of mechanical equipment and associated devices for concrete pumps and related infrastructure.

You will work closely with our Leading Hand and Workshop Manager to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. Your ability to diagnose and suggest appropriate action for any problems incurred will be crucial in maintaining the smooth operation of our equipment.

Key activities will include planning for and organizing materials, tools, and other resources required for works; operating within agreed standards and principles; servicing, repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining equipment; modifying truck and chassis as required to fit concrete pumps and boom; and performing other duties as may be required from time to time by the Leading Hand and/or Workshop Manager.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A trade qualification as a mechanical fitter or related field is desired but not essential;
  • Previous experience in the installation and repair of mechanical equipment is an advantage;
  • The ability to diagnose and suggest appropriate action for any problems incurred;
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills;
  • A friendly, positive attitude;
  • The ability to work both in a team environment and without supervision;
  • Hydraulic experience will be looked upon favorably.
Benefits

Excellent remuneration package including overtime available. Overtime pay and penalty rates will apply. A full-time, permanent position is on offer with a competitive salary range of $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year.

Working Conditions
  • An 8-hour shift schedule from Monday to Friday with no weekends worked;
  • Overtime will be available when necessary;
  • No rotating shifts or night shifts are involved in this role.
