About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Brownfield Engineering team in a pivotal role as we partner with a major player in the Oil & Gas industry to provide Engineering, Procurement, and Construction services on a long-term contract.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a dedicated Contract team, balancing people, technical, client, and project leadership.
  • Responsible for the engineering portion of multi-discipline engineering scopes of work on multiple projects, supporting a long-term Brownfields Engineering Service Contract with a key client.
  • Bring to life our company's three-pillar strategy of Inspired Culture, Delivery Excellence, and Profitable Growth on the Contract.
  • Consistently display and enforce company values and behaviours, and commitment to the highest standards of safe and ethical behaviour, to ensure safe and reliable operations and client satisfaction.
  • Anticipate client needs beyond the immediate scope, drive technical excellence and assurance on the engineering portion of projects across all disciplines to add value to the client and asset portfolio.
  • Manage key stakeholders in the execution and delivery of contracted activities.
  • Coordinate and complete the various engineering, and start-up aspects of projects while meeting HSSE, quality, schedule, and budget performance goals.
  • Develop and retain motivated and competent people.
  • Undertake the role of process owner.
  • Drive safety by design and lead on opportunities for innovation.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a similar Engineering Manager role or considerable experience in a Discipline Manager role with relevant experience in successful operational and strategic delivery for a complex contract/portfolio within the Oil & Gas sector.
  • Suitably qualified with a degree in Engineering, Scientific Discipline, or related technical field.
  • Expert in engineering excellence with extensive knowledge of engineering theories and techniques and a high level of skill in the application of this knowledge in the management of the engineering function, tools, and processes.
  • Leader of people with several years of supervisory experience, capable of engendering an entrepreneurial spirit of cooperation and energising diverse teams to adopt best practice, driving optimal performance with safety at the heart of everything we do.
  • Professional level of knowledge of relevant regulatory framework and legislation with an ability to apply relevant technical practices, codes, and standards.
  • Commercially astute with a 'solutions mindset', skilled in the management of risk during the design process consistent with safety, technical, and commercial requirements.
  • Articulate communicator (both written and verbal) including well-developed technical report writing and professional presentation skills.
  • Passion for energy security/transition with the vision to navigate energy models of the future, coupled with proven experience partnering with clients to be more efficient, sustainable, and optimised to deliver the best energy mix in their respective markets.
  • Customer-focused with an ability to develop trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders, while balancing operational excellence to contribute to the competitive advantage of the company.
