Director of Specialized Care

The position of Executive Director, Specialist Operations and Coordination requires a senior leader with extensive experience in ambulance service operations.
This individual will provide strategic leadership to the Specialist Operations and Coordination division, enabling high-quality care and improved accessibility and responsiveness of emergency care.
The Specialist Operations and Coordination division provides direct specialist care and clinical advice to the Victorian community and health services through retrieval, aeromedical and stroke specialist services.
This role coordinates ambulance resourcing and access to emergency and non-emergency services and alternate care pathways.
A team of over 700 clinicians and specialists provides clinical services, logistical coordination, operational communications, and major contract management within this division.
The successful applicant will have:
- Tertiary or postgraduate qualification in a relevant clinical discipline (medicine, paramedicine or similar).
- Extensive senior experience in ambulance service operations, including development, implementation, and evaluation of service delivery and operational programs.
- Strong knowledge of state-wide telecommunications technology and communications.
- Proven ability to advance clinical knowledge through problem solving and systems thinking.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Coaching, mentoring, and leadership experience managing a large, diverse workforce across multiple locations, with track record in leading change and culture improvement.
