About the Position

The La Trobe Rural Health School is a leading institution in rural health education, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality programs in nursing and midwifery. We are seeking an experienced Academic Lecturer to join our team and contribute to the development and delivery of our nursing and midwifery programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and deliver subjects and courses within the nursing and midwifery program, ensuring alignment with accreditation requirements and industry standards.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching methods to engage students and enhance their learning experience.
  • Contribute to the promotion and recruitment of students for the nursing and midwifery programs, and support student retention and success.
  • Collaborate with research teams to develop and implement research projects, leading to formal research outputs.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with industry stakeholders to facilitate clinical placements and research opportunities.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated clinical experience as a practicing Dual Registered Midwife and Registered Nurse with current registration.
  • Clear understanding of accreditation requirements and skill capabilities of entry-level registered nurses and midwives.
  • Passion for rural health and wellbeing, and an understanding of rural healthcare needs.
  • Ability to supervise and co-supervise honours and postgraduate students.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present scientific and non-scientific information to various forums.
  • Experience in leading and managing teams, and working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in preparing research proposal submissions and securing research funding.
