Remote Site Operations Manager

\

ESS provides multi-service capability to major companies and organisations operating in remote sites, gold mines and coal fields. We provide vital workplace support for people working in some of the most isolated terrains in the world.

We're looking for a driven and capable Site Operations Manager to support the day-to-day operation of one of our remote contracts.

\

As a Site Operations Manager, you'll work closely with the Project Manager to ensure seamless service delivery, strong client relationships, and a high-performing team. You will be a champion of safety, team development, and operational excellence.

\

This is a 7 day on, 7 day off role, working 11 hour shifts and is fully relieved. The candidate will reside locally or be prepared to drive-in, drive-out. Accommodation and meals are all supplied.

The Position

  • Assist with the management of daily operations by monitoring tasks, reviewing progress, and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Build strong client relationships by communicating effectively, providing solutions, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Support, develop, and train team members, fostering a positive and respectful work culture that promotes growth and achievement.
  • Approve timesheets, manage leave, and ensure accurate payroll inputs to maintain compliance and efficiency.
  • Ensure full compliance with site readiness requirements including inductions, WAFs, and SOPs to guarantee a safe working environment.
  • Maintain system access and Learning Management System compliance to ensure seamless data integration.
  • Promote and uphold Compass Group's strong safety culture by encouraging employees to report incidents and participate in training programs.
  • Proactively manage employee absences, performance, and grievances to prevent conflicts and ensure a smooth workflow.

The Person

  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a remote, hospitality, facilities, or similar operational environment.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams.
  • A passion for safety, training, and operational excellence.
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Confidence using workforce systems and managing compliance.
