About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Associate Primary Engineering Specialist to join our Power team in Melbourne or Sydney. As a key member of our dynamic and collaborative team, you will be responsible for leading the technical delivery of Primary/HV projects from feasibility to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the technical delivery of Primary/HV projects, including feasibility, concept designs, detail designs, and owner's engineer services.
  • Develop and mentor junior engineers to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to deliver high-quality projects.
  • Lead the primary design of high voltage substations and other related infrastructure, ensuring compliance with current design standards and legislative requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering and project teams to deliver timely and accurate documentation and reports.
  • Lead teams of engineers to undertake larger packages of work, including training and mentoring junior staff.
  • Provide concept and detailed design and review of specifications, drawings, and other technical documents.
  • Maintain current design standards as set by legislative requirements and carry out quality checks and procedures.
  • Draw upon your technical expertise and that of the broader team to deliver high-quality technical advice to clients.
  • Contribute to a team environment and drive delivery excellence across the Power team.
  • Support cross-business line activities and contribute to strategic bids and tenders in future energy across ANZ.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in electricity transmission, distribution, and traction power projects, with a strong understanding of engineering disciplines.
  • Experience in substation primary engineering, ideally with HV/EHV substations design up to 500kV.
  • Experience in use of engineering software in design, with a strong understanding of design and its impact on construction.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues to a range of stakeholders.
  • Results-oriented with a good technical engineering basis in transmission, distribution, or rail traction power, and managing project delivery.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering.
