Our Power team is at the forefront of the energy transition journey to net-zero carbon emissions, delivering technical solutions to high voltage power generation, transmission, and distribution clients across Australasia. We are seeking an experienced HV Design/Primary Engineer to join our dynamic and growing team.

The Opportunity

You will be a key member of our Power team, working on iconic projects that shape the energy transition journey. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the technical delivery of Primary/HV projects from feasibility to completion.
  • Developing and mentoring junior engineers to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Designing and leading the primary design of high voltage substations and related infrastructure.
  • Collaborating with engineering and project teams to deliver timely and accurate documentation and reports.
  • Leading teams of engineers to undertake larger packages of work, including training and mentoring junior staff.
  • Providing concept and detailed design and review of specifications, drawings, and other technical documents.
  • Maintaining current design standards as set by legislative requirements.
  • Conducting quality checks and procedures to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Contributing to strategic bids and tenders in future energy across ANZ and supporting cross-business line activities.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a confident and capable senior engineer with a strong foundation in electrical engineering and experience in leading teams and mentoring junior engineers. Your diverse electrical engineering skills will enable you to contribute broadly to our Power business. You will have:

  • Experience in a range of engineering disciplines, including electricity transmission, distribution, and traction power projects.
  • Proven capability in substation primary engineering, including HV/EHV substations design (up to 500kV).
  • Experience in solar farm and wind farm connection substations.
  • Proficiency in engineering software for design.
  • Understanding of design and its impact on construction.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues to stakeholders.
  • Results-oriented with a good technical engineering basis in transmission, distribution, or rail traction power and project delivery.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering.
